Men’s Haircuts in Brooklyn
Modern Men’s Haircuts Built Around Your Hair
A great men’s haircut should look good when you leave the chair — but it should also make sense when you wake up the next morning.
At Seoul Scissors, every men’s haircut starts with your hair, your face shape, your lifestyle, and the way you actually wear it. Nicole combines precision scissor work, modern cutting techniques, and Korean- and Japanese-inspired styling to create cuts shaped for the individual rather than copied from a template.
Whether you want a classic men’s haircut, a clean short cut, a textured style, longer layers, a two-block, or a Korean- or Japanese-inspired look, the goal is the same:
a haircut that looks good and is easy to live with.

Long Men’s Haircuts

Korean-Inspired
Korean-Inspired Men’s Haircuts
Korean men’s hairstyles have become popular for good reason — a wide range of looks, from clean and refined to textured, layered, and expressive. At Seoul Scissors, Korean-inspired cutting can include two-block haircuts, comma hair, textured fringe, Korean dandy cuts, Korean mullets, layered medium cuts, soft volume, K-pop-inspired styles, and Korean-inspired perms combined with men’s cuts. The goal isn’t to give every client the same Korean haircut — the style is adapted to your face, hair, lifestyle, and how much styling you’re willing to do..
Why Japanese-Inspired?
Why Choose a Japanese-Inspired Cut?
Japanese-inspired men’s styles emphasize controlled shape, texture, layering, and a natural finish — Japanese crops, medium shags, layered cuts, dandy-inspired styles, textured fringe, longer flowing styles, and Japanese-inspired bowl shapes all fall under this approach. The result can be subtle or distinctive — you don’t have to want an obviously Japanese-inspired haircut to benefit from the cutting technique
Hair Types
Men’s Haircuts for Different Hair Types
There is no single men’s haircut that works the same way on every head of hair. Density, texture, growth direction, cowlicks, natural movement, and previous haircuts all affect the finished result.
Thick Hair — strategic removal of weight makes it easier to control without looking overly thin or flat
Fine Hair — the goal is preserving visual density while using shape and texture to create movement
Straight Hair — shows clean lines and precision particularly well, but reveals uneven weight quickly
Wavy Hair — the cut should work with the natural wave rather than fighting it
Curly Hair — curl pattern, shrinkage, density, and natural movement all shape the final result
Cowlicks & Growth Patterns — the cut works around them rather than pretending they aren’t there
The Process
How Your Men’s Haircut Is Created
There is no universal styling approach that works for everyone.
Consultation
Nicole discusses what you want, how you normally wear your hair, and what has or hasn’t worked for you before. Bring a reference photo, or simply explain what you’re trying to achieve.
Hair Assessment
Density, texture, growth patterns, cowlicks, existing length, and previous haircut are all considered.
Cutting & Shaping
The right combination of scissors, clippers, layering, weight removal, and texturing for the desired result.
Finished Style
Your haircut is styled so you can see how the shape works and how it should behave when you style it at home.
Real Life
A Haircut That Works Without an Hour in Front of the Mirror
One of the most important questions before choosing a haircut is: how much work are you actually willing to do every morning?
If your ideal routine is shower → towel dry → go, the haircut should account for that. If you’re happy to spend several minutes with a blow dryer and product, that’s different too — Nicole considers your actual routine when creating the cut. A great haircut isn’t necessarily the one that looks best after 30 minutes of styling. It’s the one that works for you.

Cut For Your Hair, Not a Template
Every head of hair behaves differently — density, growth pattern, cowlicks, how it falls when you wake up. That’s why every men’s cut here starts with how you actually wear your hair: product or no product, styled or air-dried, five minutes or none. The scissor-focused technique shapes texture and movement into the hair itself, so the cut holds its shape for weeks — not just the day you leave.
Questions Clients Ask Before a Men's Cut
Q1: Do you cut with clippers or scissors?
Scissor-focused, mostly — texture and shape come from shears, which is what separates a Korean-style cut from a standard clipper cut. Clippers appear only where a look calls for clean tapering, like the two-block sides.
Q2: Will a two-block or Korean style work with my hair?
If your hair has any natural texture or wave, yes — these styles are built on it. Straighter hair works too, and a light perm (see the Specialty page) is the common add-on for extra texture. The consultation settles it honestly.
Q3: How often should I get a cut?
Most men’s cuts hold their shape 4–6 weeks. The two-block and longer styles stretch 6–8 weeks before the sides need cleaning up.
Q4: Can you work from a photo?
Yes — a reference photo shows the general shape, length, and texture you’re looking for. Nicole adapts it to your own hair rather than assuming an identical result.
Q5: Can you cut long men’s hair?
Yes — long hair can be shaped and layered so it looks intentional while maintaining the length you want.
Q6: Do you cut curly or wavy men’s hair?
Yes — natural texture is factored into shape, weight, and layering.
Q7: Do I need to style my hair every morning?
Not necessarily — tell Nicole if low maintenance matters to you, and the cut can be designed around how much styling you’re realistically willing to do.
Q8: Can I get a Korean-inspired haircut without wanting a dramatic K-pop style?
Absolutely — Korean-inspired cutting includes many subtle, wearable styles like softer layering, face-framing, texture, or a two-block structure without an extreme look.
